Desert Peruvian Flamme Organic Cotton Yarn

100% Color Grown Flamme Organic Cotton Yarn (Vegan)

Each hank is 8oz., 325 yds. The average needle used is #8 - #10 (4.5 - 3.5 sts) = 1").

This yarn knits up slightly chunky on a #10, BUT #8- 9 is a more normal worsted gauge. The yarn is made up of 2 roving strands twisted together to form a thick and thin alternating texture. Because this is color~grown yarn it can sometimes shrink between 10-15% in length. If you are unsure, I would launder a sample first when doing a project. The shrinkage only occurs when you machine dry it and the color gets deeper the more times you machine dry it. If you want the color to stay the same with no shrinkage, either machine wash or hand wash in cool water and lay flat to dry.

This color is best described as two subtle shades of desert twisted together. I do my best to detail each color along with displaying the photo, but since monitors vary and if you're not familiar with this yarn, I highly recommend that you buy a color sample card (see Our Products to the left). It is well worth it!
