Description

Mossy Rock Swallowtail Organic Cotton Hand Spun Light Chunky Yarn.

Made from certified organic cotton yarn & fair trade.

It is best described as Green Pewter Gray. This color is Vegan & vegetable dyed.

NOTE:The main top picture is for color purposes only. Look at the Marshmallow (lower picture) to see what Swallowtail looks like.

Each hank is approximately 80-100g & 45-50yds

This yarn is hand brushed so the texture is irregular, rustic and very soft.

The average needle used is #10-10.5

3 sts.=1" & 5 rows=1" (stockinette).

Note: This is an average since the yarn can vary from color to color and sometimes hank to hank within the same color....It also can have color variations from ball to ball. This is the nature of hand spun veggie dyed organic cotton yarn. The irregularities are part of the beauty of this very unique eco-yarn.

This yarn is made by native men & women in Peru, which makes it very special. They earn more than their country's set minimum wage. They are provided food and a very nice atmosphere to work in. There is no exploitation of children or slaves wages. This is what "Fair Trade" means. Buying this yarn helps to promote a better life for the artisans and their families.

When deciding to use different colors in one project you may need to test the two colors for any kind of color bleed. For example Creme and Indigo might have an issue while Sky Blue and Indigo wouldn't. If you have any questions about this check out the care instruction page or e-mail us.

I do my best to detail each color along with displaying the photo, but since monitors vary and if you're not familiar with this yarn, I highly recommend that you buy a color sample card (see Our Products to the left). It is well worth it!
