There is no finish on this box. The outside it natural Kraft brown fiber and the inside is greige unbleached fiber. The 4 x 4 x 4 has a water based pinstripe finish and is Kraft brown inside and out.

The box is also thick and not flimsy like some fiber board boxes (the 4 x 4 x 4 is less thick). Another plus.
